2nd IKKF Moscow Grand Slam 2025 | Press Release

On May 2, 2025, the 2nd international martial arts festival "Moscow Grand Slam" was held in Moscow under the guidance of the International Koshiki Karate Federation (President – Sergey Fedotkin) and the Okinawa Karate & Kobudo Federation of Russia (President – Valery Maistrovoy). Special guest: the IKKF Branch Chief from China - Sensei Song Min Jie.

More than 300 athletes from 12 countries competed on Moscow tatami: Russia, China, Iran, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Turkmenistan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Mali, Ecuador, Turkey.

Technical results:

 Kumite individual, male (full contact, heavy weight):

  • 1st place – Alexander Grushinskiy (Russia)
  • 2nd place – Vasiliy Bubich (Belarus)

  • 3rd place – Russia 3 (Olga Nikitina, Petr Nikitin, Alexey Nikitin)

The victory in team competition was won by the Russian national team, represented by sports teams from Moscow, Moscow region, the Rostov region and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. The second place was taken by Kyrgyzstan team, the third place was shared by representatives of the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China.

Group of Japanese karate masters under the guidance of BO HIDEO (future Minister of Finance of Japan) has begun the practice of full contact kumite using protective gear in Tokyo Imperial University. Foundation of a new direction of Japanese martial arts – “Karate in Armor", which was the predecessor of Koshiki Karate.

1st Championship of Japan under the rules of "Karate in Armor" was held.

Foundation of the All-Japan Koshiki Karate Federation (First President – MASAFUMI SUZUKI) and the 1st All-Japan Championship under the rules of Koshiki Karate was held.

RULES
Permitted technique
  • Hand Punch to the Upper Level (helmet): 1 point
  • Hand Punch to the Middle Level (body protector): 1 point
  • High Kick by Leg3 points
  • Middle Kick by Leg2 points
  • Middle Punch by Elbow1 point
  • Middle Kick by Knee: 2 points
  • Sweep or throwing with the hit (non-contact), no more than 5 secfor the technique execution: 2 points
  • Non-contact demonstration of a hit to the area unprotected by equipment (back, nape): 1 point
  • Effective hits within one combination or attack: are summed up
  • More than 5 unanswered points within 1 attack or upon reaching a 10-point difference during the fight: «Renzoku waza ippon» (clear victory for a clear advantage)
  • Submissive technique, no more than 10 sec. for the technique execution: «Ippon» (clear victory)
  • Knockout or knockdown: «Ippon» (clear victory)
Prohibited technique
  • Hits to the genitalia, nape, neck, back, joints, etc
  • Hits by knee or elbow to the upper level
  • Hugs of the opponent equipment
  • Single «mawashi-gedan» (low-kicks) without continuing the attack
  • Dangerous, traumatic throws such as "mill", "deflection", etc
Warnings & Disqualifications
  • «Mubobi-chui» – verbal warning with no points scoring
  • «Hansoku-chui» – warning with 1 point to the opponent
  • «Hansoku» – disqualification. Could be implemented in case of execution of the prohibited technique, bickering with judges, non-sport behavior, intentional delay of the fight, etc. After the announcement of disqualification, the Center Referee will remove the athlete from the tatami with the command "Shikkaku". The athlete will be disqualified if he receives a second    Hansoku-chui (regardless of the type of rule violation)
  • «Jogai-chui» – going beyond the tatami with 1 point scoring to the opponent. The number of exits outside the tatami is not limited. The technique behind the «Jogai» line is not scored and no points are awarded
Fight time
  • Children and youths under 15 years old – 2 minutes (excluding time stops, except for forced long breaks, for example, for a doctor's examination or referee meetings)
  • Juniors 16-17 years old, veterans – 3 minutes (excluding time stops)
  • Adults over 18 years old – 3 minutes (clear time)

Notes:

  • Time stops at the command of the Center Referee for the time of the referee's meetings, medical assistance and forced breaks
  • In case of a draw, «Enchosen» is announced the 1st extra minute
  • In case of a second draw, «Sai Enchosen» is announced – the 2nd additional minute («Sakidori» – the fight before the first technical action, the winner is the one who made the first effective attack, or, as a result of attacking actions, forced the opponent to go beyond the tatami – «Jogai Chui»)
  • In case of a draw in a fight before the first technical action, the winner is determined by the referee decision of «Hantei» based on the results of the entire fight. Without referee`s meeting
